So my prayer few of days ago has turned out to be futile as I lie here at 20 past midnight as the rain clatters our building. As it has done all godforsaken night. These Northern French rainstorms are more powerful than I ever thought – but of course I haven’t been on tenterhooks about the residents of the Pas de Calais area before this moment….

I also never thought I’d get this attached – these migrants are the only thing on my mind currently, particularly as it has rained non-stop all afternoon and evening. It is forecast to continue doing so until Thursday…
